The deputy, who suggested that Russians “eat less” during the crisis, declared zero income. A year ago he earned four kopecks

Ilya Gaffner, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region from United Russia, declared an income of zero rubles for 2020. The declaration was published on the website of the regional parliament.

Gaffner declared ownership of one apartment with an area of 66 square meters. Moreover, each of his three minor children also has an apartment – 80, 201.7 and 239.2 square meters.

In a conversation with Open Media, Gaffner confirmed that he did not earn anything in 2020. He refused to clarify on what means he lives.

Gaffner gained fame in early 2015 when he suggested that Russians “eat less” amid rising prices.

At the end of 2019, Gaffner declared an income of four kopecks.

In 2017, Gafner was fined for concealing income while undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. According to the prosecutor’s office, Gaffner, being declared bankrupt, received his salary in cash, thus hiding about 400 thousand rubles from the liquidator.
