The Day of Unity of Ukraine was celebrated in Odessa

Today, January 22, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Unity – the date of the reunification of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1919.

According to the already established tradition, in the morning, flowers were laid at the monument to Taras Shevchenko in the park of the same name in Odessa.

The ceremony was attended by the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Sergey Grinevetsky, the first deputy chairman of the Odessa Regional Council Oleg Radkovsky, the head of the GUNP of the region Nikolay Semenishin, the commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Neizhpapa, representatives of the leadership of Odessa and the Odessa region, clergy, armed forces and residents of the city.

The head of the Regional State Administration Serhiy Grynevetsky noted that the Day of Unity of Ukraine is for each of us a historical symbol of the unification of the country and at the same time a general landmark for the future, because it is the social, spiritual and territorial unity of Ukraine that is the most important condition for the development of our state.
