The counteroffensive in the Liman area continues, new villages have been liberated – Third Corps

The military says the Russians have suffered significant losses in killed and captured.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are continuing their offensive in the Liman sector and liberating more settlements from Russian forces. Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the Third Army Corps Petro Horbatenko told Suspilne .

According to him, Ukrainian troops continued to advance throughout the week, but the situation in this area remains difficult. Russian troops continue their attempts to attack Ukrainian positions near Lyman, Slovyansk, and Kramatorsk.

Gorbatenko noted that Russian troops continue to operate using their usual tactics. He said the enemy is using “meat assaults,” aircraft, and attack drones, particularly targeting populated areas.

At the same time, Ukrainian units are conducting offensive operations as part of Operation Vivaldi.

“The enemy in this area is defeated and disorganized, and is attempting to redeploy its special forces units there to seal the breach. They’re simply grinding them to pulp, achieving no success. The Russian generals are trying to cover up their lies, their failure, at the expense of human lives,” the officer noted.

According to a spokesperson for the Third Army Corps, Ukrainian troops have already regained full control of Yarovaya, Novoselivka, Aleksandrivka, and the village of Srednee. The liberation of Korovy Yar was also reported. However, the military is not yet disclosing some of the operation’s results.

“We simply can’t disclose and discuss everything at the moment,” Gorbatenko explained.

The military man added that the operation is ongoing, and its next stages are still ahead. “There will be at least three more, and possibly more,” he said.

According to Gorbatenko, Ukrainian forces are attempting to operate asymmetrically, compensating for their limited manpower with technological solutions. Specifically, this involves coordinating the operations of drones, artillery, aircraft, electronic warfare systems, and air defense systems.

The Chief of Staff of the Third Army Corps also stated that Russian troop losses in this direction are significant. However, the military plans to release precise figures on the number of dead, wounded, and captured later.
