Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the first series of airstrikes on Iran very successful.

During the first wave of Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami, could have been eliminated.

According to an IDF spokesman, other Iranian military leaders and leading scientists involved in nuclear development could also have been killed as a result of an Israeli attack.

The Israeli military later clarified that the attack killed the former head of Iran’s nuclear agency, Fereydoun Abbasi, and nuclear scientist Mehdi Tehranchi, as well as nuclear scientist Abdolrahim Minuchehr.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the first series of airstrikes on Iran very successful.

“We have made a very successful first strike, and we will achieve much more,” he said.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei acknowledged the deaths of a number of senior military and nuclear scientists in Israeli strikes. He warned Israel of “bitter and painful” consequences for strikes on Iranian territory.

Iran’s armed forces had earlier vowed a “decisive response” to the Israeli attack, with Khamenei saying he was giving the military complete freedom of action.

So far, it is known that a major fire broke out in the Natanz area, where the uranium enrichment plant is located. There are also reports of explosions in Isfahan and at the underground uranium enrichment plant in Fordow.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed the attack on the Natanz nuclear facility and is monitoring the situation.

“The IAEA is closely monitoring the situation in Iran, which is of deep concern. The agency can confirm that the Natanz facility was among the targets,” agency chief Rafael Grossi wrote in X.

“The agency is in contact with the Iranian authorities regarding radiation levels. We are also in contact with our inspectors in the country,” Grossi said.

Meanwhile, Israel launched a second wave of airstrikes on Iran.

Meanwhile, an Israeli military spokesman said Iran had launched 100 drones. American, Israeli and British fighter jets are actively intercepting drones launched at Israel from Syria and Iraq.

Israel’s strike on Iran

On the night of June 13, the Israeli army launched a strike on nuclear facilities in Iran. According to preliminary estimates, the first strike came as a surprise to Iran in both scale and geography.

Command-level targets, commanders, military facilities, headquarters, and nuclear facilities were hit.
