The victims of the strike were a railway worker and his wife. Within the city limits, a railway section was damaged – tracks, contact network and freight cars.
In Odessa, a couple was killed in a massive drone strike carried out by the Russian army on the night of May 1, and the number of injured people sharply increased to 15 people.
According to the press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 16-story building, private and multi-apartment residential buildings, an educational institution, shops, and cars were damaged. “Currently, a full list of destruction and damage is being established,” the press service noted.

As UNIAN was told by Iryna Kovalenko, a spokeswoman for the regional prosecutor’s office, 9 of the 15 victims were residents of a 16-story building.
“A man born in 1943 and a woman born in 1955 died in one of the houses. They are probably a couple. The number of victims is still being determined,” Kovalenko added.

An investigation has been launched into the facts of war crimes that caused the deaths of people (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code).
At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the region’s railway infrastructure was also under enemy attacks.
“There were no casualties at the workplace, but unfortunately, the enemy attack on Odessa took the life of a railway worker in his own home,” the department said.
It also says that one section of the railway was damaged – the tracks, the catenary and three freight cars were affected. However, passenger trains are running according to schedule.
Railway workers are carrying out urgent restoration work to ensure that freight trains can run to ports without hindrance. They are currently taking an alternative route.
According to the regional headquarters of the State Emergency Service, fires broke out in the areas of impact, and in one of the high-rise buildings, rescuers, together with the interaction services, evacuated more than 200 people.
