The Russian command did not allow its troops to leave Liman , which was surrounded by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai, announced this on Telegram .

“The military of the Russian Federation, based in Liman, turned to their leadership with a request to leave, but they were refused. Over 5,000 military of the Russian Federation are surrounded,” Gaidai emphasized.

As the head of the UVA noted, these Russian military “will try to break through or surrender.”

“Almost all escape routes or the supply of ammunition are blocked,” Gaidai added.

Liman “boiler”  – what is known

A few days ago, Western analysts said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine seem  to be intent on encircling Russian forces in Liman, Donetsk region . This will allow the defenders to threaten the positions of the Russian Federation along the western border of the Lugansk region and in the area of ​​Severodonetsk-Lysichansk

The fighters  took all the paths under fire control , so the Russians have little chance of repeating the mass withdrawal from their positions, as was the case in the Kharkiv region. 

According to the latest data, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have probably  almost completed the encirclement of the Russian group in Liman  and cut off critical ground communications supporting Russian troops in the Drobyshevo-Liman area.

Russian propagandists in their social networks confirm that their group is in an “operational encirclement” and that the invaders are conducting “all-round defense”. 

In Russia, the situation in Liman is called “extremely difficult.”
