To date, the heaviest fighting continues in the Donetsk and Bakhmut directions . For eight years, the Russian invaders failed to advance in the east of Ukraine, and in the Kharkiv and Lugansk regions, “mobiks” began to surrender en masse.

Yaroslav Lysenko, a serviceman of the Svoboda battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of Apostrophe TV .

According to him, it is important for the Russians to have at least some advantage after the proclamation of the “LPR” and the attempted annexation of the Ukrainian regions.

“In the Liman area, they are defeated, we are already entering the territory of the Lugansk region,” the fighter said.

According to him, the combat ability of the invaders is deteriorating. In May, they still had the advantage of an offensive in Sevedoronetsk and Rubizhnoye, deftly maneuvering tanks with companies of snipers and mortars, and working in a coordinated manner. And now some of their cooperation has deteriorated, but the number of attacks has not decreased.

“They beat everything, just in our direction, and where it flies – there is no time to figure it out,” the military emphasized.

At the same time, servicemen from the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions say that “mobiks” are surrendering en masse.

“It’s an unpleasant situation, because we are determined to fight, to kill the enemy, and we need to be to some extent humanists for these so-called fighters with yellow spots in front,” Lysenko said.

He noted that this fact causes problems, because there is no time and means to save the lives of the invaders.

“We didn’t expect them to surrender. We thought we’d just kill them. Well, what should we do with them? Now we need to assign security, look for a place, contact the SBU, hand them over. the radios tell each other how to give up, what to pick up. There were cases when they came to us with white shorts, one came out with foam plastic, the second with a rag, “says the military man.

However, according to Lysenko, it’s better that way than shelling from the Rashists.

“Now there will be a trend – they will surrender in companies, platoons, God forbid, entire regiments and divisions. It will be massive, because these people are not motivated, they were caught on the street. Such people do not win,” Lysenko summed up.

The situation in the Donbass

At the end of August, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive. Almost the entire Kharkiv region  and a number of settlements in the Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson regions have already  been liberated.

On October 15, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a very difficult situation remains in the Donbas. The hardest thing is for Ukrainian soldiers in the Bakhmut direction . The head of state stressed that the defenders of Ukraine are holding their positions.

Defenders of Ukraine give the enemy a fitting rebuff. However, Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said that the Russian invaders plan to completely capture the city of Bakhmut  in the Donetsk region by the end of October.
