SBU investigators have completed a pre-trial investigation into a Russian citizen, the leader of one of the so-called “DNR” illegal armed groups, Igor Bezler.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
According to the press service, in June 2014 in the city of Horlivka in Donetsk region Bezler headed a group of militants.
It was established that together with his accomplices he organized and directed the abduction and torture of a local businessman. After that the malefactor committed premeditated murder of the victim.
In addition, in July 2014, he organized the abduction of a private in one of the battalions of the special police patrol service. By order of the group’s leader, the militants tortured and killed the illegally detained man.
The actions of the accused are qualified under Part 3 of Art. 27, part 1 of Art. 438 (organization of ill-treatment of a civilian and management of his actions, committed by prior conspiracy); Part 2 of Art. 438 (ill-treatment of a civilian, combined with premeditated murder); Part 3 of Art. 27, part 2 of Art. 438 (organization of ill-treatment of a civilian, combined with premeditated murder, and management of its commission, committed by prior conspiracy) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
