The body of Alexander Tyunin, CEO of the carbon fiber company Khimpromengineering, has been found in Russia. The man became the “honorary” 20th Russian top manager to die under mysterious circumstances since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Tyunin’s body was found in a forest near Moscow near the village of Kokoshkino. Russian media reported this and released a video from the scene.
The man was lying next to his car, with a rifle next to him. Russian media have already managed to write that the top manager allegedly committed suicide “due to a five-year depression.”
It is worth noting that the company “Khimpromengineering”, whose CEO was Alexander Tyunin, is the only Russian manufacturer of carbon fiber. The company is engaged in the development of innovative projects in the field of production of chemical fibers and carbon composite materials.
“Sudden Russian Death Syndrome” among businessmen and top managers in the Russian Federation
Dozens of top managers associated with the aggressor country’s largest companies have died in Russia since 2022. In many cases, investigators saw signs of suicide, and the mystery of these tragedies led to the term “sudden Russian death syndrome.”
A series of such mysterious deaths in Russia began after Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin declared a “state of emergency.” One by one, wealthy and successful executives began to die, which even attracted attention in the Russian media.
The death of Alexander Tyunin was at least the 20th in a series of these in the past three years. The causes of their deaths remained unknown. They include:
– Oleksiy Sinitsyn, CEO of the company for the production of potassium and magnesium salts “K-Potash Service” (2025).
– Dmitry Osipov , Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uralkali, who died in August (2025).
– Mikhail Kenin, co-owner of the largest Russian developer, the company “Samolyot” (2025).
– Andriy Badalov , vice president of Transneft, who fell from a balcony in 2025.
– Vitaly Robertus , vice president of Lukoil, whose death was classified as suicide (2024).
– Vladimir Nekrasov , who became chairman of the board of directors of Lukoil after Maganov’s death, died a year later due to “acute heart failure” (2023).
– Vyacheslav Rovneiko , Director of the Interregional Fuel Union (2023).
– Igor Shkurko , Deputy Chairman of Yakutskenergo (2023).
– Leonid Shulman , head of the transport service of Gazprom Invest (2022).
– Vladislav Avaev , former vice president of Gazprombank (2022).
– Serhiy Protosenko , former top manager of Novatek (2022).
– Ravil Maganov , Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lukoil, who fell out of the window of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Presidential Administration (2022).
As OBOZ.UA reported, the Russian authorities have stepped up preparations for the population (and are preparing themselves) for difficult times. In just one day, top Russian politicians, including dictator Vladimir Putin, issued a series of statements about economic stagnation and gas shortages.
