German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz sees a connection between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s phone call with US President Donald Trump and the subsequent massive airstrikes on Ukraine. Merz has noticed a certain pattern in Putin’s behavior, and the latest Russian air attack on Ukraine has once again confirmed his opinion.
This was stated by government spokesman Stefan Cornelius at a briefing in Berlin on Friday, July 4. He was quoted by Tagesschau.
“The Chancellor has repeatedly stated the other day that the Russian leader has a certain pattern of behavior: telephone conversations are usually accompanied by even harsher attacks,” Cornelius said.
He added that Russia’s strikes on Ukraine last night only confirmed this impression.
“The massive strikes on Ukraine after Putin’s phone call with Trump speak for themselves,” the spokesman noted.
Cornelius also expressed hope that these attacks would spur decision-making regarding Russia, including sanctions.
So far, US President Donald Trump has not accepted the European Union’s convincing proposals to tighten sanctions against Russia, the publication noted.

On the night of July 4, Russia attacked Ukraine with 550 airstrikes, targeting our country with 539 drones of various types and 11 missiles. Air defense forces neutralized 478 targets. President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that this was one of the largest attacks by the enemy.
The enemy directed the main blow at Kyiv . Russia massively attacked the capital of Ukraine with missiles, strike and simulated drones. Falling debris was recorded in a number of districts of Kyiv, fires broke out, 26 civilians were injured due to enemy actions, and one death is known.

Germany’s army compared to the Scandinavian Armed Forces is piss poor. They will never catch up within any forseeable time and are afraid of retaliation. There’s also fierce resistance in the Bundestag to send these weapons.
