“The Art of the Ceasefire”
🙄 Weeks after Trump declared to negotiate a “ceasefire” in #Ukraine we can clearly see that nothing happened.
Russia continues to 𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛 infrastructure and civilians – as usual.
Like they have for decades, in spite of all western “peacemaking”
As to why Trump keeps denying this, “Putin” in this #animation says it best:
🎤 “If you admitted that I was breaking the ceasefire, that would mean you’re not a peacemaker at all, and not the genius who can quickly end this conflict…as you promised. And that simply can’t be, right?”
Trump, instead of acknowledging the obvious — that Russia never abides by any agreements, escalates shelling, and continues its aggression — pretends to be a peacemaker and shifts attention to absurd demands for compensation from Ukraine.

🐤 This is a canary in the coalmine moment
Foremost #Professors and authorities on 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐦 are leaving America.
Yale professor Timothy Snyder, who is arguably America’s foremost authority on tyrants and authoritarian 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐦, sees the the writing on the wall and is leaving America.
I’m a huge fan of Snyder’s works, especially his book “On Freedom”
I read it last year, while traveling in #Ukraine
💡 “On Freedom” discusses how disinformation, polarization, and authoritarian tactics erode personal and political freedom. In a world flooded with #propaganda and manipulated narratives, Snyder reminded me that defending #truth is essential to defending #democracy — and that freedom isn’t a given, it’s a responsibility.
Fellow #History professors Timothy Snyder and Marci Shore, who are married, wrote that their children were factors in the couple’s decision to leave.
Stanley wrote the book “How 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐦 Works” and he’s leaving as well. Big hint.
🧠 If this keeps up, the #USA will soon experience the Brain Drain of the century, as #Academics will seek to leave.

Good choice! Hundreds of thousands Americans, with brains and talented, are now researching the options to move away from tRump and his MAGAs nonsense, especially as he is already talking about his next round as a POTUS… He has only just started on his 2nd, – and it’s such an almighty MESS already!
I am not sure about his deal making claims, but his mess making skills are second to none!

When the premier academic experts on propaganda and f@scism believe it necessary to remove themselves from harm’s way, you know that there is a big problem that is only going to get worse.
It certainly got my attention.
The fact that prof Snyder, who predicted the current behaviour of the trumpkov fascist regime, is being pressured out, is extremely disturbing.
The implications are indeed profound.
The last thing the US can afford is a brain drain. The country’s education system is broken and there are already too many ill-educated, drooling baboons who believe in the fascist maga idea.
I hope the convicted felon destroys our economy. Once Leroy and Billy Joe Bob can’t afford to
put gas into their stupid pickup trucks, it’s game over for the orange administration.
