Work continues in Ukraine on the conversion and creation of its modified air bombs on the basis of conventional free-falling ones, the head of aviation of the command of the Air Force of our army shared.

A full-scale war in Ukraine continues, and soon the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will begin testing guided aerial bombs of domestic production.

Tests of domestic air defense systems will start in a few weeks, Serhiy Golubtsov, the head of aviation of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, shared during an interview with the “Radio Svodoba” project called “Donbas Realities”.

“We are also currently working on the conversion and creation of our modified air bombs based on conventional free-falling bombs. There are some constructive nuances, we need to choose a wing, a GPS module, as well as a control module. In a few weeks, we should start the first tests of the first batches of such bombs , already Ukrainian,” the interviewee shared.

Golubtsov added that now the Ukrainian Air Force uses anti-aircraft missiles that were produced in the West – it is about GBU-62 and GBU-39.
