Ukrainian servicemen continue the operation on the territory of the Kursk region. Recently, the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced on the main salient in Kurshchyna in the Dar’ino area (southeast of Korenevo).

In turn, the Russian occupiers are making attempts to counterattack in order to return the territories under their control. This is stated in the analysis of the Institute for the Study of War.

Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces counterattacked near Dar’ino, Mykolayevo-Daryno (southeast of Korenevo), Novoivanivka and Pogrebka (northwest of Suzhi). The Russian Federation also said that Putin’s troops allegedly advanced in Novoivanivka (southeast of Korenevo) and near Mala Lokna (north of Suja), but ISW did not find confirmation of these statements.

The commander of the Ukrainian unit operating in the Kursk region reported that Russian forces are having difficulties in supplying front-line units, transporting armored vehicles to the front line and accumulating forces for large-scale attacks due to poor logistical support.

Russian troops continued offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kreminna line on December 3, but did not achieve any confirmed successes. Ukrainian troops recently repelled an attempt by Russia to gain a foothold on the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupyansk. Geolocation footage released on December 3 shows that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are in control of Novomlynsk (north of Kupyansk), despite recent Russian claims that the occupiers have advanced in the area.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that Russian troops tried to move to the western bank of the river near Novomlynsk and gain a foothold, but Ukrainian artillery and drone strikes cleared the area of Russian forces.

Russian propagandists claimed that Putin’s army advanced in the Kupyansk region and established fire control over the section of the R-97 Dvorichna-Kupyansk highway. However, ISW has not found any corroboration of these claims.

We will remind you that the occupiers are close to advancing to the important logistical routes of the Defense Forces, which provide the rest of the western part of Donetsk region and pass to the eastern part of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.

It was previously reported that Ukrainian special forces from the 73rd Naval Center of the Special Operations Forces conducted a successful operation in Kurshchyna. They raided Russian positions and took four prisoners.
