Stand With Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump and #Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky are scheduled to meet face-to-face on Sept. 23, in New York, USA.
Radoslaw Sikorski, Deputy Prime Minister of #Poland :
“To the representatives of #Russia, I have this to say : we know you don’t care for the international law and you’re incapable of living in peace with your neighbours.
Your insane nationalism contains a lust for domination that will not cease until you realize that the age of empires is over, and that your empire will not be rebuilt. Every drone strike by the heroes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — may God bless them — brings this day closer.
Your ‘three-day Special Military Operation’ can’t even conquer Donbas for ten years now. But the potential for criminal, catastrophic Russian mistakes is still there.
- By ordering mobilization in 1914, you precipitated the start of World War I, which bleed Europe white, and led to your Bolshevik revolution.
- By signing the Hitler-Stalin pact, you helped launch World War II – the bloodiest in history.
- By sovietising central Europe, you caused the Cold War. Don’t start another one. We are peaceful democracies, who have studiously avoided actively joining your attempt to re-conquer Ukraine. But we will not be intimidated.
I have only one request to the Russian government: if another missile or aircraft enters our space without permission – deliberately or ‘by mistake’ – and gets shot down, and the wreckage falls on NATO territory, please don’t come here to whine about it. You have been warned.”

11 years ago, pro-russian militants brutally tortured and murdered 16-year-old Stepan Chubenko from Kramatorsk.
They knocked out his teeth, bound his hands and feet with tape, removed his sneakers, pulled a T-shirt over his head, and forced him to his knees. One by one, three militants shot him in the head. His body was then wrapped in tarpaulin and buried by the river.
Before his execution, Stepan was tortured. Witnesses recalled how he was strangled with a towel, beaten so savagely that someone begged, “let’s finish it quickly.” They promised to spare his life if he joined the so-called “DNR,” but he refused.
His parents searched everywhere — hospitals, trenches, checkpoints. In Donetsk, Stepan’s mother, Stalina, once managed to speak to the then-DNR deputy interior minister Zakharchenko. The next day, he called her back and said: “Stepan was executed.”
The body was returned only in the fall of 2014. His grave shows the date of death as July 27; the court recorded July 28; his mother believes it may have been July 29. No one knows for certain. In 2022, vandals smashed his headstone. His parents disguised the grave so that strangers would not find it.
After 2022, they fled to Poltava. During air-raid sirens, Stalina carries two boxes of her son’s belongings into the corridor: a Shakhtar Donetsk mug, sports pants, a hoodie with “Glory to Ukraine,” and the T-shirt that militants pulled over his head before the execution. “Behind two walls, I hide Stepa’s things,” she says.
His parents later published his poetry collection, “I Understood the Meaning of Life.” “Stepa wanted Kramatorsk to be Ukraine. Let him guard his city,” his mother said.
In 2017, a Ukrainian court sentenced his three killers — Pogodin, Moskalyov, and Sukhomlinov — to life imprisonment in absentia.

Every morning at 9am people honor the fallen heroes of Ukraine.
“This week, my mornings have been at Rynok Square. And it seems to me that not a single day has passed without a funeral.
It’s very moving to watch how people pause their lives to pay respect.
In cafés, people stop their work calls and conversations. In some places — even the kitchen staff step outside and kneel.
Once, I saw a small group of young people who came to celebrate a birthday at Svit Kavy. They had just lit a candle on the cake when the trumpeter began to play. So they paused their celebration for a moment, and continued only after the procession moved on toward the Mars Field.
And foreigners are fascinating to watch in this scene. Some try to kneel, others simply stand in silence.
I am learning very important lessons here, just by observing this.”

🌻 near the great lavr лиkoí̈ bell presented the first 600 meters of the world’s largest klaptikovoí̈ blanket “Sunflower Quilt For Ukraine – Patchwork Victory”
💙💛 This canvas, created by masters from over 25 countries, symbolizes international support for Ukrainian soldiers and serves as a fundraising tool to restore the faces of defenders who have been seriously wounded on the frontline 🕊
The initiator of the project is Australian artist Jeanette McLaughlin, who started it at the beginning of a full-scale invasion. By the end of next summer, the blanket should reach 1100 meters.
In case of success, the project will be registered in the Book of Records of Ukraine and will apply to the Guinness Book of Records.

Radoslaw Sikorsk is one of few senior Polish politicians who can be relied upon to support Ukraine. The others are flip-floppers.
I liked some of his words to the putinaZis. Not the “you have been warned” bit.
Firstly it is pointless warming scum like them; only actions make a difference.
Secondly, saying that we “studiously avoided actively joining your attempt to re-conquer Ukraine” is absolutely nothing to be proud of. It’s pathetic in fact. And it stinks.
