The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue successful operations in several key areas of Donbas. Ukrainian troops have achieved notable results in the Pokrovsky and Siversky areas, as well as in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka area.
This data is provided by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Ukrainian forces continue to hold strategic positions and achieve local successes.
Advancement in the Pokrovsky direction
Ukrainian forces have advanced west of the settlement of Zatyshne, located northeast of Pokrovsk. Lieutenant Colonel Oleksiy Belsky, a representative of the Dnipro group, denied videos that allegedly showed Russian troops attempting to enter the city through sewage pipes. According to him, the diameter of the pipes in this area is about 60 cm, which makes such attempts physically impossible.
Russian troops attempted to capture Krasny Liman, but failed to establish control over the settlement. The enemy continues to strike at Ukrainian supply routes, but due to logistical problems, is forced to enlist individual soldiers to transport ammunition to forward positions.
The situation on the Kostyantynivskyi and Siverskyi directions
Ukrainian forces have also made progress in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka area. Geolocation footage shows that Ukrainian forces have advanced in the western part of Katerynivka to the south of Kostyantynivka. In addition, Ukrainian forces continue to hold Volodymyrivka to the southwest of Druzhkivka.
Russian troops conducted offensive operations in various directions: east of Kostyantynivka in the area of Stupochek and Predtechyny, southeast and south of it in the areas of Dylivka, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, and others. However, the enemy failed to achieve significant progress, and Ukrainian forces retain control over strategic positions and counterattack in several places.
Russian pressure on Donbas
Russian troops continue offensive operations to the northeast, east, and southeast of Dobropillya, attempting to break through Ukrainian positions in the areas of Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Shakhove, Novy Donbas, and Zapovedne. Ukrainian troops successfully hold Zapovedne and continue to counterattack in nearby settlements.
It is worth noting that, according to the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, today the terrorist country Russia holds about 700 thousand occupiers on the territory of Ukraine. This is the total number of military personnel together with other services. The main part of the enemy forces is concentrated in the Donetsk region.
As OBOZ.UA reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia is preparing offensive actions in the Pokrovsky direction. The enemy has concentrated significant forces there – up to 100 thousand personnel.
