The package is worth 1 billion euros, of which almost 650 million euros come from Belgian companies.

Belgium will provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth one billion euros, which will include various military equipment and weapons. According to TILD , more than half of the total amount – 650 million euros – is of Belgian origin.

“This production by our own industry means that a significant portion of the resources are returned to our economy and support employment in our defense sector,” said Defense Minister Theo Franken.

As the publication indicates, the package includes:

  • about a hundred armored ambulances and Unimog vehicles.
  • five unmanned naval vessels
  • drones, helmets, medical equipment, portable drone detection systems, night vision goggles and protective clothing against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.
  • over 16,000 weapons and pistols,
  • twenty modernized Cerberus air defense systems
  • Leopard battle tank with a new gun turret for testing.

In addition, Belgium is investing in the training of Ukrainian maintenance specialists within the F-16 coalition in cooperation with the Belgian defense industry. Belgium is also supporting the launch of 70 mm rocket production in Ukraine in cooperation with local companies.

Belgium will also train Ukrainian F-16 pilots, prepare crews of future minesweepers, and conduct explosive ordnance disposal training.

Weapons for Ukraine

In early May, Germany transferred a new package of military aid to Ukraine . It included, in particular, missiles for IRIS-T air defense systems, 66 armored vehicles with mine-resistant protection (MRAP), 4 kinetic protection vehicles, and 3 Zuzana-2 wheeled howitzers.

In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently said that Ukraine could receive more shells by the end of 2025. This is about receiving another 1.8 million ammunition as part of the “Czech initiative.” Czech President Petr Pavel noted that thanks to this initiative, the ratio of shells at the front was reduced to 1:2.
