Taganrog Oil Depot Catches Fire After Drone Attack

In Matveyev Kurgan near Taganrog, an oil depot caught fire following a drone strike.

The incident was reported on the Telegram channel of Yury Slyusar, Rostov region governor.

The fire broke out at a private fuel storage facility. Authorities say people are being evacuated for safety reasons.

According to the governor, firefighting operations are still ongoing in the Matveyevo-Kurgan district.

On the night of May 29–30, the governor reported that a tanker and a fuel storage tank caught fire in the port of Taganrog.

Additionally, Svetlana Kambulova, the mayor of Taganrog, confirmed the attack, reporting that the pier’s loading infrastructure and an administrative building were damaged.

Militarnyi reported that on May 24, 2026, the Defense Forces of Ukraine attacked the oil-loading pier of Tamanneftegaz in the settlement of Volna in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. The strike hit an oil-loading arm, damaging it.
