Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told the Russian side that Ukraine had rejected his “peace proposal.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that yesterday the minister initiated a telephone conversation with his colleague Sergei Lavrov, which was a continuation of the contact between Kremlin leader Putin and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban:
“Szijjártó reported that Hungary’s proposal for a temporary ceasefire on the “Ukrainian front” and a large-scale prisoner exchange was rejected by Zelensky, which Budapest was informed about by officials of the Kyiv regime.”
Lavrov replied that it was not the first time that Ukraine had rejected “peaceful” initiatives from “states sincerely interested in peace.” He again mentioned Putin’s vision of a “realistic path” to ending the war.
