Syrsky ordered to recall from vacation and punish the military who took part in the rally in support of Fedorov, – Sternenko. VIDEO

After protests against the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov , servicemen who supported actions in his support began to be recalled from leave and threatened with disciplinary punishment.

This was reported by volunteer and former advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhiy Sternenko,  Censor.NET reports .

Attempted detention of a military man and Syrsky’s order

According to Sternenko, during a morning rally in Kyiv, where concerned citizens gathered, a sharp clash with law enforcement officers broke out. Representatives of the Supreme Security Service tried to detain a serviceman who came to express his disagreement with Fedorov’s resignation.

” However, they left the scene after people started shouting “shame”. I know that now Syrsky has given the order to identify and return from leave as quickly as possible those military personnel who supported the protest, as well as to threaten them with punishment ,” the former adviser to the Minister of Defense wrote.

The new Cabinet and Fedorov’s resignation

  • On July 14, the Verkhovna Rada supported the resolution on the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko. The entire Cabinet of Ministers automatically resigned with her.
  • On July 15, Mikhail Fedorov announced that he was resigning from his post as head of the Ministry of Defense.
  • Prior to this, a number of media outlets and people’s deputies wrote that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wanted to replace him with Ihor Klymenko, the current head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
  • Actions in support of Mykhailo Fedorov took place in Dnipro, Rivne, Zaporizhia, Lutsk, Cherkasy, and other cities. Participants are protesting against his resignation.
  • On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada voted to appoint a new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine . Prime Minister is Serhiy Koretsky.
