Sweden Announces Largest Military Aid Package for Ukraine

The country’s government is currently negotiating with suppliers in Sweden and Europe to supply priority equipment such as artillery and drones.

Swedish Defense Minister Poul Johnson announced a record package of military aid to Ukraine worth approximately $1.2 billion. He wrote about this on the social network X.

According to the minister, approximately $90 million of this amount will be directed towards the production of Ukrainian long-range missiles and drones.

“Another approximately 250 million dollars will be directed to various international funds. 178 million dollars will be directed to the “Danish model”, which attracts funds for the military-industrial complex of Ukraine,” his post says.

The Swedish government’s website notes that this is already the 18th package of military aid to Ukraine. The total amount of packages provided since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion is about 61.9 billion Swedish kronor.

The aid package announced by Jonsson consists of eight components, the largest of which are various purchases of cutting-edge equipment, mainly from the Swedish and other European defence industries, for transfer to Kyiv.
