It will include assets to support air defense, artillery, satellite communications, and naval capabilities.
Sweden has announced the largest military aid package for Ukraine – its size was estimated at $1.6 billion, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson said.
According to him, this includes support for Ukraine’s air defense, artillery, satellite communications, and naval capabilities.

Thus, according to Johnson, the Swedish Military Procurement Agency (FMV) will purchase new equipment for Ukraine’s defense industry for $912 million from this package.
A significant part of international military support will also be implemented through multilateral initiatives and coalitions established within the framework of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine. Sweden will donate approximately $465 million to these funds and initiatives.
“The support package also includes materials from the Swedish Armed Forces and spare parts for previously provided assistance worth about $93 million. This new assistance includes m/58 machine guns, ammunition, about 100 vehicles of various types for servicing the air base, etc.,” the Swedish Minister of Defense notes.
$46 million will be allocated to defense export guarantees for Ukraine. “This means that more companies can support Ukraine by providing the necessary materials along with Swedish FMV purchases.
“FMV will also be tasked with identifying, testing and funding military developments from small technology companies that require refinement for military use in Ukraine,” Johnson wrote, adding that Sweden is launching the Dragons’ Den project for this purpose.
