The russian federation has begun discussions at the highest level on how to explain to society the actual defeat in the war against Ukraine without its official recognition, The Telegraph reports.
These talks have intensified against the backdrop of regular drone attacks on Moscow and its suburbs. Earlier, russian dictator vladimir putin had already hinted that the hostilities were supposedly coming to an end. He made this statement after the May parade in Moscow, the scale of which had to be significantly reduced precisely because of the threat of strikes by Ukrainian drones.
Analysts emphasize that the war that has broken out has not brought the Kremlin the expected victory, and relations with the West have never normalized, despite Moscow’s hopes of concluding a favorable deal with the Trump administration. Currently, the russian power system radiates irritation and discontent, which are recorded even among circles loyal to the regime, but it remains completely incapable of changing the situation in its favor.
The publication’s journalists also learned about the leak of internal working documents that reveal the Kremlin’s plans for the post-war period. According to these data, a special team of russian officials led by the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergey Kiriyenko, is developing methods for state media. The main task of propagandists is to present the end of the war to society as a victory of the “invincible” army, ignoring the fact that none of the Kremlin’s original goals were achieved.
In addition, the developed plan provides for the forced neutralization of radical russian “patriots” who may accuse the authorities of treason and defeat.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, russia complains about a massive drone attack, with Moscow, Taganrog and several oil refineries under attack.
