Strike on Belaya airfield: satellite images of destroyed aircraft appear

According to the photo, at least 8 aircraft were destroyed or damaged.

The first satellite photos of the Belaya airbase in Russia’s Irkutsk region after the Ukrainian drone attack have appeared online . The images show damage to the airbase, confirming the destruction of Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 aircraft.

The satellite image was published by OSINT analyst Chris Biggers on his page on the X network on the night of June 2.

The image shows that as a result of the attack, 4 Tu-22M3s and 3 Tu-95MSs were probably destroyed, and one Tu-95MS was damaged.

“What a remarkable success of a well-executed operation,” the analyst comments.

Strikes on Russian airfields

The SBU conducted a large-scale special operation to destroy bomber aircraft in the rear of the Russian Federation. SBU drones worked on aircraft that bomb Ukrainian cities every night. The special service worked on four military airfields at once – aircraft were burning at the airfields “Belaya”, “Dyagilevo”, “Olenya” and “Ivanovo”.

According to the SBU, at least 41 aircraft were hit, and the occupiers’ losses are estimated at more than seven billion dollars. We are talking about Tu-160, Tu-22 and Tu-95 aircraft.

The WSJ notes that the loss of dozens of long-range aircraft, vital to Russia and its attacks on Ukraine, will cause serious damage to Russia’s military power . The fact is that Russia no longer produces Tu-95MS or Tu-22M3 aircraft, which were among the damaged ones.
