Stoltenberg: NATO has many air defense systems that can be shared with Ukraine

Allies are now working to help Ukraine close off the skies from Russian attacks.

NATO has enough air defense systems to share with Ukraine to protect against Russian attacks. This was stated by Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a press conference .

“I can’t give an exact number because this is intelligence or classified information that I can’t go into. There are less than 100 in Europe,” Stoltenberg said.

The Secretary General added that the Alliance has a significant number of Patriot batteries, the United States having the most of them. This reflects the fact that the United States “has a global responsibility.”

“But the reality is that, of course, we have systems that are large enough that we can supply significantly more to Ukraine when it comes to air defense in general, particularly Patriot batteries. And that’s what we’re working on now.” – noted the NATO Secretary General.

  1. NATO: We have so many Patriots systems in Europe, we dont know what to do with them…………..we really dont……………..really……………

  2. Stoltenberg is on Ukraine’s side, generally. But he doesn’t have the power to order Nato members to give Patriot batteries to Ukraine. We can only hope he’ll be convincing when talking to heads of state about the urgent need for deliveries. 😕
