According to Starmer and Macron they will be protecting the freedom of navigation, but of course TACO needs to be seen as the one in control. Here is a statement from Starmer.
He says France and the UK will lead an international mission to protect freedom of navigation “as soon as conditions allow, strictly peaceful and defensive”.
He continues saying there will be a planning conference in London next week, with a dozen countries set to contribute assets to the mission.

The Strait is not fully open according to Iran. Ships still have to pass through designated areas controlled by the IRCG. So it’s anyone’s guess what the real situation is.
