Under Putin’s leadership the Russian world has turned upside down and into a cesspool of imbeciles and obedient sheep irresistibly drained by Putin’s Totalitarian regime of corruption at its evil core .

Just as the old saying goes

The debate on the presidential elections in Ukraine has flared up, even though the country is in the midst of a full-scale war. The question is simple: Are there going to be elections – and why now?
Volodymyr Zelensky was elected in 2019 with a historically strong mandate: 73.22% of the votes in the second round, over 13.5 million votes and an election turnout of approx. 63%. It was a clear signal of reform and independence.
His five-year term formally expires, but Ukraine is under a state of emergency. According to the constitution, elections cannot be held under these circumstances. Still, external players – most recently Donald Trump in an interview with POLITICO yesterday – to make the election a theme.

Why is the discussion dangerous?

  1. It is not a Ukrainian demand, but a Russian agenda
The debate about elections started in Moscow. The Kremlin doesn’t care who wins – it’s all about the process. An election campaign in the middle of the war gives Russia an ideal space for destabilization, misinformation and sabotage. The more chaos, the better for Moscow.
  2. An election campaign can divide the country from the inside
Going to elections in the midst of an invasion is like opening a new front. Internal tensions and Russian interference will explode while the country is already fighting for its survival. The risk is that Ukraine will not get out of the process altogether – neither politically nor territorial.
  3. Elections are impossible – legal and practical
The Constitution prohibits elections under a state of emergency. And in practice it’s just as impossible: millions of displaced, occupied areas, daily attacks. Anything but a full vote would be a dangerous imitation that undermines democracy instead of strengthening it.

Guarantees – and the big challenge
There is now talk of changing the legislation to open up an opportunity for elections. But the question is: If you can guarantee security on election day, why not later? A democratic process requires more than one secure day – it requires stability throughout the period of vote counting, government formation and power transfer. This is exactly where Ukraine’s reality collides with theory: the war makes long-term guarantees impossible.

FACT: Ukraine’s constitutional rules on elections
Articles 83 and 103 of the Constitution of Ukraine:
The presidential term is five years. Elections must be held within 90 days after the expiration of the period.

All elections are suspended under martial law or state of emergency. Parliament can extend its term until the state of emergency ends.

Changing of the rules:
The Constitution can only be amended with 300 votes in Parliament and must be approved by the Constitutional Court.

By the way, I would think that several of Ukraine’s neighboring countries to a great extent need a real democratic election.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Trump’s son said Ukraine was “much more corrupt than Russia” and accused Zelensky of allegedly not wanting to end the war.

Trump Jr. also accused Ukraine’s wealthy people of “running away from their country,” leaving “what they considered the peasant class” to fight.

“We hear all the rumors about what’s going on when we see that every second taxi in Monaco is Ukrainian. This summer in Monaco, 50% of supercars like Bugatti and Ferrari had Ukrainian license plates,” he said.

Finally, Trump Jr. suggested that his father might simply be distancing himself from the war and the U.S. would stop being “an idiot with a checkbook.”

During World War II, four brothers from a Jewish family volunteered to fight the Nazis. Only one of the four brothers survived. His grandson is the current president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Calling Ukrainians “Nazis” is proof of how primitive russian propaganda is – and how hopeless those who will believe its every lie are.

Refat Chubarov, Head of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people, in response to Donald Trump’s statement that “Crimea is a small piece of land washed by four oceans”:

“I do not insist that every world politician knows perfectly the geography or history of Crimea and its indigenous Crimean Tatar people. However, I have every right to expect from them a basic understanding of the basics of international law and an unwavering adherence to the fundamental principles of the UN Statute on which international relations are based.

It concerns the sovereign equality of states, the impermissibility of the threat or use of force, interference in domestic affairs, the duty of states to cooperate with themselves, the right of peoples to self-determination, and the honest implementation of international obligations. All of these principles are aimed at maintaining peace and security, developing mutual respect and observance of human rights.

For such an approach it becomes absolutely obvious: only two entities have the right to determine the fate of Crimea – the Ukrainian state and the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. Attempts by others to dictate Ukraine and the Crimean-Tatar people, which should be the future of Crimea, are simply not appropriate.”

  1. Also wanted : for colluding with a genocidal fascist power:
Krasnov, Krasnov Jr, Gabbard, Carlson, Witkoff and many others ……..

  2. I vehemently oppose the Republican Party as it stands today. It’s not the Republican Party that I grew up with. It’s been downgraded to a dirty, immoral, fascist play ball for the criminal in the White House. That’s why I gloat every time a Republican losses an election.
