A local councilor from St. Petersburg who called on Vladimir Putin to resign says he’s been overwhelmed by the level of support from members of the public. Dmitry Palyuga, of St. Petersburg’s Smolny municipal council, co-authored a petition calling on the Russian president to step down that was sent to Russia’s State Duma.
