South Korea names number of North Korean soldiers killed and wounded in war in Ukraine

South Korea’s intelligence service has published data on the number of North Korean soldiers killed and wounded in the war in Ukraine.

According to Yonhap , according to information provided to a South Korean parliamentary committee during a closed briefing, some of the 11,000 North Korean soldiers stationed in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation have already been sent to actual combat operations.

“During this process, at least 100 people died, and the number of injured probably reached 1,000,” the report said.

At the same time, there are probably generals among the victims.

South Korean intelligence explains the large number of casualties by the fact that North Korean troops are being used in assaults on “unfamiliar battlefields” due to their lack of experience using drones.

Russian military personnel complained that North Korean soldiers were a “burden” due to their “ignorance” of drones, the intelligence added.

The agency also reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un plans to inspect the training of special operations forces that may be sent to Ukraine.
