The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Korea also stated that they will consider measures for the possible supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine.

South Korea may send military and intelligence personnel to Ukraine after North Korea sent troops to support Russia, Newsweek reports , citing South Korean media.

The media, citing a South Korean intelligence representative, reported that the government and military of the Republic of Korea “are considering a plan to send an appropriate number of personnel, including intelligence officers [specializing in North Korea] and experts on enemy tactics” to Ukraine.

South Korean personnel in Ukraine will conduct interrogations or provide translation services if North Korean soldiers are captured by Ukrainian forces. They will also provide Kyiv with information on North Korean military tactics, doctrine and operations.

Later, South Korea’s Defense Ministry said at a press briefing that it would consider measures to possibly supply lethal weapons to Ukraine with an “open attitude.” Seoul had previously provided humanitarian aid to Kyiv.
