The time has come to move from sounding the alarm to enforcing legal accountability.

When xenophobic violence is fueled by political rhetoric and met with inadequate police response, international legal frameworks must be activated.

The Council of Europe (CoE) offers clear mechanisms for action:

(1) ECtHR Applications (Art. 34 & 33): Victims and partner states can bring cases against Poland to Strasbourg for failing its legal obligation to protect minorities and investigate hate motives (violating ECHR Art. 3, 8, and 14).

(2) Direct CoE Oversight: Submitting evidence to the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) and the Human Rights Commissioner to trigger urgent country visits and formal investigations.

(3) Diplomatic Escalation (Art. 8): Leveraging the Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) to push the Committee of Ministers toward diplomatic sanctions if state inaction persists.

Documentation is step one; legal action is step two. The mechanisms exist—it’s time to start using them.

Acting Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara has pledged to “bring the war onto Russian territory and intensify long-range strikes.”

His stated priorities: developing deep-strike and medium-range capabilities, expanding unmanned and robotic systems, and equipping combat units with modern long-range weapons.

In his first meeting with newly appointed Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi, the two aligned on the future development of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The shared goal – achieving technological superiority over the enemy, preserving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers, and forcing Russia into peace on Ukraine’s terms.

Russia has quietly begun mobilization.

According to russian media, some citizens are being blocked from leaving the country – airports have started turning people back and handing them draft notices on the spot.

The main, official phase is expected in September–October, after the State Duma elections.

Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation estimates russia plans to mobilize more than 500,000 people. Pro-war russian military bloggers put the figure above 1 million.

Some of the newly mobilized are expected to be thrown into combat almost immediately to replace battlefield losses, while others will be trained for future offensives.

This is hardly surprising when one considers the continuity of Russian military doctrine, from the Imperial Russian Army through the Soviet era to contemporary Russian doctrine, all of which have placed a strong emphasis on mass, mobilization, and strategic endurance. The challenge is that Ukraine was largely shaped by the same Soviet military tradition and inherited many of its operational concepts. As a result, the war has evolved into the largest war of attrition since the Battle of Verdun during the First World War. If negotiations fail to bring the conflict to an end, both states will simply continue to bleed each other dry, although Russia possesses significantly larger manpower and material reserves.

Putin is overextended now, which is why we MUST fight back NOW, the 100% DEFENSIVE no-fly zone is the best way forward.

Unless the West helps Ukraine MUCH MORE, Putin might attack the Baltics even now (diversion, etc.), in spite of being terribly overextended. He could drag Belarus into his war up to its neck in order to achieve this. Putin needs more cannon fodder, the Belarusians could supply it both in their North & South.

We should be one step ahead of Putin, not five steps behind, as we’re now. We should enforce a 100% defensive no-fly zone (NFZ) & a drone wall (including the training ground for entire Europe with Ukrainian help) above the Baltics NOW, & quickly extend the NFZ above Ukraine & its perimeter.

Putin understands only force. Talking to him is a waste of time. It only fuels delusions of some of us, creates pointless delays & results in unnecessary DΣΑΤНS.

“Just experienced my first air raid in Ukraine. Sirens blaring. This is everyday for every Ukrainian.

I feel like such an asshole for minimizing the struggle of Ukrainians for the last 5 years. I often said I don’t care. Looking back, that wasn’t very nice of me to say.

There are people in Ukraine who have to run to a bomb shelter everyday and some of us had the audacity to say Russia wasn’t wrong because we believed the lie that Ukraine is a country full of Nazi sympathizers.

We have been so propagandized by Russia and we don’t even realize it.

Air sirens could very well be the future of America if we don’t start demanding our lawmakers crack down on communism and multipolarity.

We won’t have Trump forever and the axis of evil is moving fast.”
