“Something terrible is happening there”: a 98-year-old woman escaped from the Russians from Ocheretino (video)

The woman remembers the Second World War and says that not a single house in the village burned down then.

From the recently occupied village of Ocheretino, civilians continue to run away from the “asvabats”. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs , the 98-year-old woman escaped from the Russians on foot and reached Ukrainian-controlled territory.

It is noted that Lidiya Stepanovna was able to walk more than 10 kilometers under fire. The elderly woman had neither food nor water with her and could barely stand on her feet, supporting herself with two sticks. Along the way, she fell exhausted several times.

By evening, the Ukrainian military saw the woman on the road and handed her over to the White Angel police group. They have already taken the woman to a safe place, where she received proper help.

Pensioner escaped from Russians

As Lidiya Stepanovna herself said, the house in Ocheretino, which she built with her own hands, was destroyed by the “asvabatites”, and relatives of pensioners were injured while trying to leave the village.

“It’s terrible what’s happening there. I survived that war and I’m surviving this war. I was left without anything. That war (World War II – UNIAN) was not like that. I saw that war too. Not a single house burned down then,” says Lydia Stepanovna.

Already in the shelter, the woman was informed that her relatives, who also fled from Ocheretino, but by a different route, also survived, although they were injured. The granddaughter of Lydia Stepanovna has already promised to take the woman to her place.

  1. The Wehrmacht in WW2 of course contained foul, scummy Nazis, but many; likely most, were professional and followed Geneva.
Allied soldiers knew that they probably would be treated in a reasonably fair way if captured.
The orc horde is nothing like that. We know from intercepted calls that orcs are evil savages, almost without exception.
As for civilians, it seems even worse for them.
No wonder this poor old lady made such a stupendous effort.
God help anyone who comes under putinaZi occupation during the current offensive. Hopefully no one will, but it looks grim at the moment.

That says it all. The cockroaches are worse than the Nazis!
