The speaker did not rule out that the enemy will intensify its attempts to capture the island, increasing the use of equipment.

The Russian occupiers are trying to capture the island of Nestryga in the Kherson region, and for this they even used a hydrocycle. Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defense Forces, said this on the air of the telethon.

“Yesterday, they already used a jet ski. It’s something new. But it also didn’t help. The number of people in Russian uniforms with a blue tan on the shore of this island is growing,” he said.

According to Pletenchuk, the large number of Russian losses is due to the fact that they are forced to conduct assault operations from the water, and there is an open area there, and it is much more difficult to do so. At the same time, he did not rule out that the enemy will strengthen attempts to capture the island, increasing the use of equipment. 

Pletenchuk emphasized that the situation is difficult, but under control.

Responding to a question about the enemy’s intentions to “clear” the bridgehead in Krynyky of Ukrainian fighters, the head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defense Forces said that first let them collect the corpses of their dead “if they can take them from local dogs and foxes.” 

As UNIAN reported, on April 29 it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces took control of Nestryga Island in the Kherson region.

Then the head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defense Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, explained the importance of establishing control over Nestryga Island in the Dnieper Delta in the territory of the Belozersky District of the Kherson Region.

According to him, this is actually the last island before the mouth of the river, on the right bank, near the settlements of Veletenske and Kizomys. He emphasized that it is important for the Defense Forces to close this area from possible saboteurs and enemy exits. That is why the Russians were kicked out of the island.
