Russia may be preparing for another major mobilization—and inside Russia, the warning signs are getting harder to ignore.

In this update, we go inside Russia to examine a military enlistment notice received by a 38-year-old Russian, damage at a Wildberries facility in the Tula region, and a growing queue at a Moscow Rosneft gas station. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukrainian intelligence has confirmed Russian preparations for a new mobilization after parliamentary elections, potentially involving several hundred thousand additional Russians.

Then we turn to Ukraine’s next major danger: winter. The Institute for the Study of War and Ukrainian officials are warning that Russia is likely to intensify attacks against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure while Kyiv continues to face shortages of critical air-defense interceptors.
