Both Ukraine and the EU are speculating about their relationship with the US over the next four years. The new US president will put pressure on the EU and force the bloc to become more independent from America. The EU must take the lead and do more to improve the situation on the continent. The question the American taxpayers are asking their leaders is why the US has given more money to Ukraine than all 27 EU countries combined.

The EU must increase the aid it provides, and it seems like there is no other option for the bloc after Trump’s inauguration. Will the 27 EU countries be able to provide enough uninterrupted funds for Ukraine to continue fighting quickly? Probably not. We saw what happened with the EU’s promised one million artillery shells and how long it took to deliver them to the frontline.

What possible solution could there be if Trump decides to cut aid for Ukraine immediately after he takes office? There is a solution. The EU will have no choice but to immediately drop all of its excuses and talk of “legal difficulties,” confiscate the $300B of frozen Russian assets housed in Europe, and provide this to Ukraine to cover its budget and defense needs until 2027.

The US embassy bigly announces it is closing today because they are weally scared. This is the opposite of Ukraine’s spirit of keeping calm and carrying on. It reminds me of Jan-Feb 2022 when the Americans were the first to flee Kyiv, almost giving a green light to Russia to invade.

The White House makes it seem like it’s given Ukraine long-range permission to strike Russia, which they haven’t. They gave a very grudging limited permission in accord with similiar permission given last May–a permission that made Russia weaker [albeit louder] and Ukraine safer. The sloppy way Biden made the announcement, along with today’s embassy closing, actually only serve to feed the anti-Ukraine folks at their Mar-a-Lago tables.

Anyway, since the Biden admin wants to create panic and make everyone very afraid today in Kyiv, maybe I’ll take today as an apocalyptic holiday and, since everything in Kyiv besides the US Embassy is open and normal, I’ll buy the nicest bottle of champagne or whiskey and just have a damn nice holiday. Any recommendations? Maybe someone has an apocalyptic ‘we’re all gonna’ die cocktail suggestion?

Of course I’ll still speak as I do every afternoon Ukraine time on Chicago radio, so I’ll kinda keep it together til then.

Ukraine is NOT using American missiles to strike deep within Russia. Why does the media keep repeating this lie?

Ukraine is very precisely and in a limited way hitting Russian and North Korean assets that are quite damn close to the Ukrainian border and which are attacking Ukrainians daily.

🚀 Remember: delivering F-16s didn’t start a world war. HIMARS didn’t trigger a nuclear exchange. Neither did ATACMS for #Ukraine

Yet people continue to listen to those who have repeated the same flawed nuclear war arguments for three years: and have been consistently wrong every time

🚩 Increasingly we find that Putin’s “red lines” exist only in the minds of western politicians.

For reference, here some of Russia’s other recent red lines that would surely result in nuclear war:

  • If Sweden joins #NATO
  • If Ukraine receives Western 155mm (shells)
  • If Ukraine receives HIMARS
  • If Ukraine gets ATACM
  • If Ukraine receives Western tanks
  • If Ukraine attacks Crimea
  • If Ukraine uses Western cluster munitions
  • If Ukraine uses Western targeting and satellite information
  • If Ukraine strikes Russian oil refineries in Russia
  • If Ukraine shoots down a Russian military plane over Russia
  • If Ukraine gets F-16
  • If long range western weapons strike Russian territory

Get it?

☝️ Negotiations and concessions make a dictator bolder. That’s how we got here. This is why echoing Putin’s fearmongering about WW3 in the West isn’t just wrong, it’s dangerous.

Deterrence works and requires strength. Convincing Putin he’s safe is what gets people k1lled.

🇺🇦 The incredible story of resilience and sacrifice, as told by Lieutenant Vladyslav Stotsky, position commander of the National Guard (please watch until the end)

For 67 #days, eight soldiers from the “Svoboda” battalion held their ground under siege, halting the ru*sian advance on the city of Siversk.

One hero, Oleksandr Khomyak, gave his life by #shielding his comrades from grenades with his own body. Seven of his brothers-in-arms broke through the encirclement, carrying his legacy forward.

🕯️R.I.P to the Hero

My op-ed from #Ukraine 8 years ago still works.

“President Trump must not allow President Putin to have unfettered access to whatever he wants in Ukraine. America must stand up to President Putin and draw a meaningful line in the sand. President Trump simply must be better and stronger than President Obama.”

Starting to worry British support for Ukraine is turning into an English version of Medvedev’s «Денег нет, но вы держитесь» (There’s no money but you hang on in there). Thank god at least for the Labour MoD team who get it. May they prevail.

1000 days ago I thought I would never see Kharkiv again
1000 days on, I am watching them putting up the Christmas decorations outside the Kharkiv opera and ballet house (which is still putting on performances)

How much heartbreak for Ukrainians in those one thousand days. How much courage and sorrow and relief they have lived through and live through. Beyond all measurement.

Update: asked a soldier friend here what he thought about the fact it is 1000 days into the big war
His reply: I don’t give a toss (he said sth ruder). Should we throw a party? Then it will be 3000 days, then 10,000? I don’t give a toss.

Refreshingly honest, one of his best traits alongside being a total hero ⭐️

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday that the reported ATACMS attack is a signal that Western nations “want escalation

This coming from the Ruzzians who routinely send hundreds of missiles and drones into Ukraine every week killing old men, children, women and first responders!

I guess the victim of Orc aggression is just supposed to let it happen and not fight back! Or just surrender?

Shows Ruzzian entitlement mentality! They are allowed to commit war crimes, but Ukrainians are not allowed to fight back! Ruzzians are allowed to use Iranian and North Korean Rockets, but Ukrainians cannot use American ones! Logic is definitely not a subject being taught in Ruzzia!!!

Hopefully the West and useful idiots do not fall for this trick!!!

Russia claims it shot down US-made ATACMS missiles and issues nuclear threat

💥 Ukraine’s precision strike capability continues to showcase its growing dominance on the battlefield. Reports suggest a UK-supplied Storm Shadow missile destroyed a Russian command and control center in Kursk Oblast, dealing a critical blow to Kremlin counteroffensive operations. Among the casualties is a rumored North Korean general commanding Pyongyang’s troops—another stark reminder of the authoritarian alliances fueling this unjust war. These strikes not only highlight the effectiveness of advanced Western weaponry but also the mounting desperation of Russia, relying on foreign mercenaries and allied dictatorships to sustain its failing invasion.

🎯 This strike underscores the urgent need for continued support to Ukraine with precision long-range weaponry, enabling it to dismantle Russia’s war machine and degrade its foreign enablers. The presence of North Korean officers on the battlefield further exposes the global stakes of this conflict—a fight not just for Ukraine’s sovereignty, but for the stability of the international order. It is imperative that the free world stands united, providing Ukraine the tools it needs to prevail against tyranny and aggression.

‼️ Kremlin gangs make huge sums of money from war.

One part of this bloody business is the “restoration of new Russian lands”.

Russia wants to seize as much land as possible is the desire of the Kremlin elite to make themselves richer by “restoring new territories.”

The scheme of “restoration” of Mariupol was well developed.

A large budget was allocated, most of which was stolen, and the buildings that were built were sold to Russians who moved to the Ukrainian resort city.

The territories that Putin wants are attractive and can be used to make a lot of money after the “freezing”.

That is why the Kremlin elites will push for the most favorable conditions for themselves.

The video shows Mariupol destroyed by Russia, which it “saved” and is now “restoring”.

Special thanks to Anton Gerashenko for the investigation.

  1. Re Dr Jade McGlynn’s post :
Sir Kier Starmer personally authorised the big Storm Shadow strike.
    Well done Sir Kier!
He commits £3.5 billion for Ukraine military aid next year.
Not enough, but ok I suppose.
    BUT:
£500 million is being lopped off our armed forces budget for next year, which of course will help the isolationists in the U.K. , because they will say that the £3.5 billion sent to Ukraine should be used for the U.K.
Also : the Labour government is considering mothballing one of our two carriers. Now that is reckless bordering on insane.
Labour wants to reward its feckless voters; ie benefits claimants, while putting the nation at risk.

  2. Andrew Pryma’s final para expressed my thoughts exactly.
He is wrong about amounts of aid though. The EU bloc has in fact given more than the US.
