Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the Russian “special operation” in Ukraine requires huge financial resources. He spoke about this at a lecture at the Financial University, without specifying the amount of spent and necessary funds.
“For pensions, huge funds – 600 billion this year, next year one trillion, and the same volumes thereafter. Money for conducting a special operation, huge resources are also needed. Citizens also need money to support the economy, ”Interfax quotes him as saying.
According to Siluanov, the total amount of “budget stimulus” – funds spent to support the economy and citizens – has already amounted to eight trillion rubles.
As The Moscow Times reported , citing data from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, in February 2022, 369 billion rubles were allocated in the federal budget for national defense, in March – 450 billion rubles, in April – 628 billion rubles.
