Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, during his speech at the UN Security Council, addressed Russian Minister Sergei Lavrov , who accused Kyiv of starting a war with Russia.

Reaction to Lavrov’s speech

According to Szybiga, he had to make an effort to listen to Lavrov’s “boring tales and manipulations” to make sure they hadn’t changed.

” One sentence said it all. I quote him: “We are not going to stop our ‘special military operation.'” He gave many reasons why Russia continues this war. He blamed Ukraine, the United States, the West, NATO. Anyone but Putin. And he will even try to present Russia as a victim. But instead, listen carefully to what he does not say ,” said Sibiga.

Three questions for Lavrov

The Ukrainian minister emphasized that he knows at least three questions that Lavrov will not answer.

” First: why won’t your president sit down at the negotiating table with our president to end this war now? Second: in August you lost tens of thousands of soldiers to capture a few square kilometers. What did they die for? Third: you wanted to take Kyiv in three days… How did it happen that four years later Moscow is burning? Silence will be his only honest answer ,” Sibiga summed up.
