In 2019, the family of the odious people’s deputy from the Opposition Platform for Life, Nestor Shufrich , registered real estate in the occupied Crimea according to the laws of the aggressor country, effectively recognizing the jurisdiction of the Kremlin.

This is stated in the new investigation of the ” Schemes ” program.

The journalists found out that we are talking about an estate and a large land plot in the village of Simeiz (South Coast). It is also alleged that the people’s deputy’s family bought land in Crimea even after its annexation, doing it in accordance with Russian laws.

Shortly before 2014, the Shufrich family purchased an unfinished 4,500-square-meter villa on the seashore from Viktor Medvedchuk, his HSE ally. The object was eventually registered as the property of the Ukrainian company Auto Business Group, founded by Shufrich’s father and his assistant. Now the object is not completed, but there is a sign with the inscription “private property”.

According to Schemes, since 2019, the estate and land allegedly belong to the Russian company Estate Holding Group. She is registered in Moscow, but she still has the same father and Shufrich’s assistant. The acquisition procedure was allegedly carried out through a special scheme.

The investigation also says that during the occupation of Crimea, the deputy’s family increased their land holdings there, acquiring even more land around the estate.

Shufrich himself, in a commentary to journalists, confirmed that his family has real estate in the Crimea, but did not answer about registration in Russian jurisdiction. The MP also claims that registration of Crimean property under Russian law is supposedly allowed by Ukrainian laws. However, this was refuted by lawyers and representatives of the authorities, with whom the journalists spoke.

Occupation of Crimea by Russia: UNIAN reference

Russia occupied the Ukrainian Crimea, bringing the military into the territory of the peninsula and organizing in March 2014 a pseudo-referendum on its self-determination. The self-proclaimed Crimean authorities stated that 96.77% of the inhabitants of the peninsula were in favor of annexing Crimea to the Russian Federation.

On March 18, 2014, the so-called “agreement” on the admission of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation was signed in the Kremlin.

Western countries did not recognize the annexation of Crimea and imposed sanctions against Russia.

The Verkhovna Rada officially announced the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea on February 20, 2014.
