Another Russian war criminal will be tried in the Kharkiv region . The commander of the grenade launcher unit of the 69th motorized rifle division of the occupation army is directly involved in the shooting of unarmed Ukrainian soldiers in Vovchansk.
A Russian national is accused of the murders of three defense attorneys in June and July of last year, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has sent an indictment to the court against a Russian serviceman involved in the shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
He is charged with crimes stipulated in Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 438, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine as amended until 24.10.2024.
The commander of the grenade launcher detachment of the motorized rifle company of the 82nd motorized rifle regiment of the 69th motorized rifle division of the Russian Armed Forces, with the call sign “Altai”, will appear before the court . He, together with other occupiers, occupied the territory of the Vovchansky aggregate plant after the start of the repeated invasion of the Russian Armed Forces in the north of the Kharkiv region.
The first crime for which the occupier will be tried was committed on June 16, 2024. Then an unarmed Ukrainian soldier came across Russian positions on the territory of the plant. The suspect, along with other Russians, interrogated the Ukrainian, passed on the information obtained during the interrogation to the higher command, and received an order to kill the prisoner.
“He was shot. The accused provided cover for the actions of the perpetrator of the murder of a Ukrainian soldier,” the OGPU noted.
The suspect committed two more murders using the same scheme in July last year.
And soon he found himself a prisoner.
“On September 24, 2024, special forces of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, during the liberation of the territory of the Volchansky Aggregate Plant, captured Russian military personnel, including the accused. They were taken to one of the front-line settlements of the Kharkiv region, where prosecutors immediately conducted interrogations to establish all the circumstances of the crimes and collect evidence,” the report states.
The pre-trial investigation into the case was conducted by the Joint Investigation Team of the SBU Department in the Kharkiv region.
The accused is currently being held in a pre-trial detention center. Prosecutors will insist in court on the imposition of the harshest sentence – life imprisonment.
Previously, OBOZ.UA reported that a Russian soldier shot a civilian in the Donetsk region and fled the scene of the crime.
The court also recently sentenced a captured Russian occupier who shot two civilians in the Kharkiv region.
In prison, I hope he will be exposed to the other inmates.
