“Shameful Pact”: Orban spoke harshly about the new leadership of the European Union

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Europe is “increasingly plunging into a war in which the continent will gain nothing but could easily lose everything.”

The agreement between the European People’s Party, the Social Democrats and the Liberals on the distribution of leadership positions in the European Union is a “shameful pact”, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote in an article for Magyar Nemzet .

In his opinion, Europe is “increasingly plunging into a war in which the continent will win nothing, but could easily lose everything.”

“The bureaucrats in Brussels want this war, they see it as their own, and they want to defeat Russia. The money of the European people is constantly being sent to Ukraine, European companies have been shot in the foot by sanctions, inflation has risen, and millions of European citizens have been pushed into hardship,” the politician notes.

At the same time, according to him, the fact of the crisis and aggravation of the military situation clearly indicated long before the elections to the European Parliament: changes are needed in Europe. At the same time, the European People’s Party “was recruited” along with socialists and liberals “interested in maintaining the status quo.”

“The European People’s Party and other left-wing parties have defied the decision of the Europeans, concluded a shameful pact and began to share power. This is a clear excess of the powers given to us by the voters. The pro-war coalition has united again. The only goal of this pro-war pact is to keep the Brussels elite in power for at least another five years, which plunged Europe into crisis,” Orbán writes.
