The defeat of yet another Russian oil refinery was the result of a successful special operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate. This was reported by sources in the intelligence services.
“As a result of the operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense on the night of May 1, the Ryazan oil refinery was hit with the help of a UAV on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the source noted.
The fire at the Ryazan Oil Refinery , as eyewitnesses said, was preceded by at least four powerful explosions. They sounded at a time when the “danger of drones” was declared in the Ryazan region.
Also, according to the source, social network users reported the presence of drones in the skies over the Voronezh region. Air defense operations were also heard there, and the media reported damage to houses in the region, allegedly as a result of one of the aircraft-type drones being shot down.

It is known that the Ryazan oil refinery, owned by Rosneft, processes up to 18 million tons of oil per year. The vast majority of the refinery’s products are exported.
This enterprise was already attacked by drones in March of this year. This happened in the early morning of March 13th. Eyewitnesses heard several explosions, then saw a column of thick smoke above the enterprise. At that time, there were reports of casualties as a result of the strike.
Let us recall that on the eve of April 30, Politico stated that as a result of Ukrainian attacks on refineries, Russia reduced fuel exports to an almost historical minimum.
Journalists noted with surprise that the Ukrainian strikes made reality what no one could have believed before: “the world’s largest oil power has run out of gasoline.”
