Several dozen information sites have been blocked in Belarus. Among them – “Radio Liberty” and “Mediazona”

The Belarusian authorities have blocked more than forty information sites in the country. TUT.by reports about it.

The list of blocked media includes several media outlets, including Radio Liberty, the chronicle of the Belarusian elections at Mediazone, Belsat, and Euroradio. In addition, it includes the resources of oppositionists Viktor Babariko, Valery Tsepkalo, Nikolai Statkevich.

When you try to access most of these sites, you receive a message that access to them is limited “based on the decision of the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus.”

On the afternoon of August 21 in Belarus, the sites of the Golos and Zubr.in platforms were blocked, which were used for alternative counting of votes and fixing election violations.

In the early days of mass protests in Belarus, users complained about the inoperability of the sites of many independent media outlets and the Internet in principle. At that time, they were not officially announced about their blockings; the authorities argued that they did not obstruct citizens’ access to the Internet.

  1. Blocking the free flow of information only confirms the fact to the people that there is continued lying of those sites still operating. This is yet another piece of evidence of Lukashenko’s paranoia and fear of the truth.
