The 40-year-old man and his 65-year-old mother were on a journey from Crimea to Lugansk when their GPS malfunctioned, directing them to the Donetsk-Avdiivka highway.
A Sevastopol resident has reportedly been killed near the front lines after the GPS in his car directed him towards the town of Avdiivka, currently the epicenter of fighting between Ukraine and Moscow’s forces.
The 40-year-old man was travelling with his 65-year-old mother last Friday from Crimea to Luhansk when they were directed onto the Donetsk-Avdiivka highway, dangerously close to the front lines.
While passing through the settlement of Spartak, an unidentified ammunition exploded near their car. The man was killed in the incident, while his mother sustained minor injuries, the Russian Telegram channel Baza reports.
Despite facing significant challenges, the Kremlin continues to deploy additional resources to Avdiivka and persists in its efforts to encircle the city.
Russian losses around the city over the past three weeks have been heavy and, by some accounts, horrific.
Most independent estimates place total Russian armored vehicle losses since Oct. 10 in the sector at around 200 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. Ukrainian army kill claims are almost twice that.

They should be even more horrific. They can’t be horrific enough. The horrificer, the better.

I very much doubt it was GPS that malfunctioned. It is well known that the orcs have their own equivalent to GPS called Glonass, which is used by russia in the occupied territories.
