A senior Ukrainian defense advisor, Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, released drone footage showing a spherical UFO with six pointed cones and a heat plume. It was spotted in May 2025 at 800 meters during combat operations. The object hovered slowly without reacting to the drone. The object resembled a star-shaped UFO observed by US forces in 2013.

A senior tech and drone war advisor to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense on Monday published photographs and video of UFOs spotted by Ukrainian military forces, and some similar – but not identical – to UFO-related content published by the Pentagon last week.

Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, a leading Ukrainian drone and electronic warfare specialist, said the sighting took place in May 2025, and that the government was aware of the incident.

The one-minute black-and-white infrared video recording shows a rounded object with a visible heat source in the middle, and six sharply pointed cones projecting from a main body in the shape of a flattened sphere. A plume, or cloud warmer than the night air, is visible behind the object.

The drone video was recorded by an Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) pilot during combat operations at an altitude of 800 meters, Beskrestnov said. The object is hovering or moving slowly during the video, without visibly reacting to the drone.

The pilot rotates an observation camera laterally and vertically after spotting the UFO. Photographs from other claimed UFO sightings showed a heat-emitting cigar-shaped object above open farmland.

“With the beginning of the war, the study of UFOs in our space became more of a military task than a civilian one. The [Armed Forces of Ukraine] AFU even have a special, detailed document on this topic [UFO sightings by Ukrainian troops] that has been cleared by the Supreme Commander,” Beskrestnov wrote in Telegram comment.
