German Chancellor Olaf Scholz did not record any changes in his position regarding the war in Ukraine during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin .
“The conversation was very detailed, but it contributed to the realization that the views of the Russian president on this war have not changed. And this is bad news,” Scholz said in Berlin on Sunday, November 17, before departing for the meeting of the leaders of the Group of Twenty (G20) in Brazil .
At the same time, Scholz responded to criticism of his call to Putin, which came from the ranks of the German conservative opposition and from other countries, in particular from Ukraine . The leader of Germany emphasized that he made it clear to Putin that Germany and other allies will not give up their support for Ukraine. No decisions will be made without Ukraine, added Scholz.

The conversation was important for supporters of the “simple way”
The conversation, according to him, was also important for those who believe that “there is a simple way to resolve this conflict.” “It can be completed only if the Russian president is ready to give up his imperialist goals. And those who talk about it in Germany should be left with the following message: there are no signs of this,” the Chancellor of Germany added.
From his point of view, against the background of the upcoming talks between the US president-elect and the Russian president, it would be a bad idea if the head of government of an important European state did not hold such a meeting. The future president of the USA, Donald Trump, has repeatedly stated that he “could quickly end the war” between Russia and Ukraine.
At the meeting of G20 representatives in Brazil, Russia will be represented by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Scholz himself will meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping during the summit to discuss “wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, German-Chinese relations and fair conditions in economic policy.”
Ahead of the meeting in Brazil, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau supported Scholz’s decision to speak directly with Putin, and said that ending the war would require some interaction with him, so “it would be good to have an open line of communication.”

The Kremlin: So far, the conversation between Putin and Trump is not being prepared
A conversation between Russian President Putin and US President-elect Trump may take place later, but currently no preparations are being made in this direction. On November 17, the spokesman of the head of the Russian state, Dmytro Peskov, stated this in an interview with the correspondent of the TV channel “Russia 1”.
To the journalist’s clarifying question whether there are any signals from the US regarding the organization of a potential telephone conversation between Putin and Trump, Peskov said: “Not yet.”
At the same time, the representative of the Kremlin noted that, if necessary, such a conversation can be organized “very quickly”. “There are no problems here. I think as soon as this need arises, there will be an understanding on both sides of the need for such communication, then it will happen,” he explained.

What a fool!
Let me make it clear. If Ukraine was getting what it needs, plenty of it, and sans restrictions, and if it was the AFU steadily gaining ground, and if it was mafia apartment buildings, schools, and hospitals getting trashed, THEN the war criminal would be open for such talks. How can it be, that a leader of such an important country as Germany CANNOT comprehend this?
And these calls of “escalation” are more like cowardly political positions. What could possibly be more escalatory than sending 200,000 soldiers into a foreign country uninvited? This is textbook KGB; accuse your enemy of doing exactly what you are doing. Thereby muting the issue.
A large part of this planet’s population is made up of dimwits, which are susceptible to KGB lies.
