SBU hit two Russian Su-27 aircraft in Crimea with “Alpha” drones

12/20/2025

The Security Service of Ukraine successfully shot down two Russian Su-27 fighter jets at the Belbek military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea. One of the aircraft was on the taxiway with full ammunition and was ready for a combat sortie – it was destroyed.

At the same time, the SBU confirmed that the airfield control tower was hit, which complicates the organization of flights by Russian forces. This was reported by the SBU press service.

“Long-range drones of the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center hit two Su-27 aircraft at the Russian Belbek military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea,” the report says.

The estimated cost of both aircraft is around 70 million US dollars.

In addition, the airfield’s control tower has been confirmed to have been damaged, which significantly complicates the control and organization of Russian military flights.

This is the second successful SBU operation at Belbek airfield in recent days.

On December 18, drones struck hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Russian equipment at the airport: two Nebo-SVU radars, a 92N6 radar from the S-400 Triumph air defense system, a Pantsir-S2 air defense system, and a MiG-31 aircraft with full ammunition.

“SBU strikes on key military airfields, as well as the destruction of enemy aircraft and air defense systems in temporarily occupied Crimea, significantly reduce its military potential in the region. This systematic work will continue,” the SBU noted.

  1. Wonderful. Now, Ukraine is able to strike parked enemy aircraft on their territories and occupied territories. I hope they can destroy many more. They are responsible for countless war crimes.

      • I’m scratching my head at these people claiming mafia land are going to attack the Baltics, or Poland in a few years time. Attack with what? They can’t afford to pay the prison trash now, and any trained military have long gone.

        • They all fail to explain just how the mafia state will accomplish such feats. I think such people are just trying to sound important and informed. I don’t take such predictions serious anymore.
