💡 “Yes, Prime Minister”, in relation to Russia’s #drone attack on a #NATO ally.

It is with heavy heart (and deep affection) that I must reshare a snippet from the #UK’s 1980s masterpiece

As they get it exactly right.

👉 The idea is that instead of taking one big, provocative step, you take a series of very small, seemingly minor steps — each too trivial for the opponent to risk a major nuclear confrontation over. But over time, these slices add up to a complete takeover.

Applied to Russia’s escalation #strategy

Russia pushes boundaries bit by bit (cyberattacks, disinformation, small incursions, drone strikes, soldiers disguised as “resistance fighters” poisoпing, теггогism, blackmail, etc.).

Each step alone looks too minor to trigger full NATO or Western retaliation.

⚖️ But taken together, they gradually shift the situation in Russia’s favor, normalizing aggression and eroding the opponent’s position.

And it’s exactly what Moscow is doing to #Ukraine but really #Europe today – slice by slice, never in one bite, so the other side always hesitates to react.

Good points. Perhaps NATO should deploy similar tactics and start taking back the parts of Ukraine that are currently under Russian control?
