Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War do not rule out that by striking hydraulic structures in the Dnepropetrovsk region, Russia wanted to prevent the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south.

“Russian forces are likely aiming to damage the Ukrainian pontoon bridges downstream, especially in light of recent reports that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to expand their foothold across the river in the Davydov Brod area as part of the ongoing counter-offensive in the Kherson region,” analysts explain.

Russia launched a series of Kh-22 missile strikes from strategic aviation aircraft on the hydraulic structures of Krivoy Rog .

Previously, there were no casualties, but several districts of Krivoy Rog were left without water. 

Locals also reported a rise in the water level in the Ingulets River. In this connection , several districts of the city were evacuated .

The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues in the Kherson region since the end of August. At present, almost the entire region is under the fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the joint coordination headquarters of the press center of the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue to liberate the occupied areas of the Kharkiv region and repel enemy attacks in the Donetsk direction .
