The negotiations between the Ukrainian delegation and the representatives of the Russian Federation sound more realistic, but more time is needed for the decisions to be in Ukraine’s favor.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his new address to Ukrainians.
According to him, in order for Ukraine to get what it deserves, “more efforts are needed, patience is needed.”
“We all want peace and victory as soon as possible. There is always a feeling that a little more – and we will get what we deserve. But we still need effort, patience, still need to fight and work. Everyone in his place, including our representatives. delegations during talks with Russia. This is important. It is difficult, but important, because any war ends in an agreement. Meetings continue, “Zelensky said.
The head of state also noted that Russia’s position in the ongoing talks has begun to sound more realistic.
“As I am told, the positions in the talks sound more realistic, but we still need time for decisions to be in Ukraine’s favor. Our heroes and defenders give us this time, defending Ukraine wherever the enemy wants to break through,” Zelensky said.
As UNIAN reported, the adviser to the head of the President’s Office Mykhailo Podoliak states that there are fundamental contradictions in the negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and Russia, but there is room for compromise.

I know I’m not the one running to bomb shelters 3 times a day but I’m in no hurry to negotiate. These threats from Russia must stop. I hope that’s the focus here. The only way they are going to stop in the short term is to hand over Putin to Ukraine. The only way they are going to stop in the long term is to demilitarize and defang Moskovia.
We know the threats Russia claimed from Ukraine are bogus but they have been made public. That’s not a problem for Ukraine to agree to. Who wants Russia?! That should be the only concession made to the Russia. We won’t invade or physically attack them.
As long as the compromises do not allow Russian to retain a square millimeter of Ukrainian territory. Putin must leave the internationally recognized boundaries of Ukraine.
I agree Red Sq that I’m also not running to the Bonn shelters. But look at the loss of life and destruction. What happens? We say hey it’s ok, kill or citizens rape our women, destroys our hospitals, destroy the lives of millions of our citizens and all is forgiven? I don’t think so. Fuckin Putin has got to pay and pay big. IMHO
Everyone may be hyping Zelensky, I don’t trust the guy at all.
If latest reports are right, he offers to give up NATO membership.
He should not compromise, but fight till the bitter end. I know I am saying this form my chair, but I feel Zelensky doesn’t understand it.
Putin only cares about NATO membership because it won’t allow him to invade.
If he will give it up, sooner or later there is war again.
The only way to ever get peace is to fight until Russia collapses. They should demand no less than Crimea and Donbas to return and Ukraine to be allowed to join any organisation they want.
Russia has no authority on what Ukraine does, no matter on how many missiles they fire at Ukraine.
I am not saying this because I am not crying or sleeping poorly because of all the innocent people dying, I am more depressed than I have ever been in my life.
But any peace agreement as I have seen it in the media will not lead to peace. Maybe for a while, but I am certain in the long run the only way Ukraine can survive is by the collapse of the Russian state.
And considering current sanctions, this won’t take very long.
Nice comment Bert and I agree. Today everyone is crying and everyone is a little bit Ukrainian.
In Zelensky’s speech today he mentioned a new, modern alignment of like-minded states that will come together when there are atrocities like Ukraine is seeing. I think he called it a union of peace.
After seeing NATO’s reaction to this genocide and just sitting back and watching Putin bomb hospitals I am not surprised. Sure its NATO’s law but what about human law? Who can sit back and just watch…except Putin?
