The Russian logistic support ship of project 23120, under strange circumstances, caught fire on the night of May 12, when it was heading towards Zmeiny Island.
This was reported by Channel 24, citing a source in Ukrainian intelligence.
After the fire, an operation was carried out to evacuate the crew of the ship, after which the damaged ship tried to return to Sevastopol under its own power at midnight.
“It seems that the Russians succeeded and the ship was moored in the port. It is not known how long the ship was out of order, but, according to preliminary data, the ship will need to be seriously repaired, ”a source told the media.
Note that in the Russian fleet there are only two ships of this type – “Vsevolod Bobrov” and “Elbrus”, which were launched several years ago.
The length of the ships is 95 meters, the width is 22 meters, the draft is 9 meters, the displacement is 9500 tons. The crew of 27 people, the ship can reach speeds up to 18 knots.

“Vsevolod Bobrov” was launched in 2016, but then the construction of the vessel ceased due to the lack of imported components (sanctions …). After completion on August 21, 2021, the ship was included in the Black Sea Fleet.
