russia has been testing nuclear capable missiles lately, from cruise missiles to “tsunami creating” Poseidon missiles. But the new tests each share a theme that shows they aren’t what they seem on the surface. Instead, they reinforce a line of thinking that has been growing about russia’s nukes – that they serve as little more than propaganda weapons for the kremlin.

In this video I explore the true state of the russian nuclear arsenal, and whether or not its actually a credible threat. I bring in examples from the Cold War and nuclear doctrine, then go all the way down to the individual psychology of vladimir putin.
